It depends on the goal and area: body contouring (tummy tuck, BBL, liposuction) for excess skin or fat. Breast surgery (augmentation, lift) for breast-shape concerns. Facial surgery (facelift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty) for structural or age-related concerns. Injectables (Botox, fillers, lips) for non-surgical wishes. Skin treatments (acne scars, laser) for skin texture. An honest consultation evaluates which procedure makes medical and aesthetic sense.

In an accredited clinic with an experienced plastic surgeon and hospital accreditation, on par with Western European standards. What to look for: Turkish Medical Association (Tabipler Birliği) licence, JCI- or TÜV-accredited hospital, surgeon experience (at least 200 cases of the specific procedure), 24/7 emergency availability, written warranty terms. Package prices well below market levels are warning signs.

It depends on the procedure: liposuction 5-7 days, tummy tuck/BBL/breast 5-7 days, facelift/rhinoplasty 7-10 days, eyelid surgery 5-7 days, otoplasty 3-5 days. For combinations (e.g. "Mommy Makeover") 10-14 days. For Botox/fillers, 1-2 days are enough.

Some of these headlines are justified — there are cases of careless treatment with overly aggressive technique, fake materials, or inadequate emergency infrastructure. Not every clinic in Turkey is reputable. What you can do concretely: verify a board-certified plastic surgeon, choose a JCI-accredited hospital, agree in writing on premium materials (Allergan, Mentor, Motiva), check warranty terms, and question package prices below market levels.

Turkey prices (typical): tummy tuck 4,000-7,000 Euro, BBL 3,500-6,500 Euro, breast lift 3,500-6,000 Euro, facelift 4,500-8,500 Euro, rhinoplasty 3,000-6,000 Euro, liposuction per area 1,800-4,500 Euro, Botox per area 100-200 Euro, fillers per ml 150-300 Euro. Western European prices are 1.5-2x higher.

For most aesthetic procedures, revision is possible after 6-12 months of healing. A reputable clinic provides a written revision policy — terms should be in place before you travel. "Lifetime guarantee" used as a marketing slogan is rarely legally enforceable.

For acute issues, most doctors at home will see you as a private patient. However: revising a flawed cosmetic operation at home is very expensive and not every plastic surgeon will accept "overseas patients". Make sure you receive from Turkey a complete operative report, material manufacturer details (implants etc.) and before/after photos in writing.
