Fillers are particularly suitable for volume-related wrinkles: nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheek volume loss, tear trough, lips. NOT suitable for dynamic wrinkles (forehead, crow's feet) — those are treated with Botox. With very deep, established wrinkles, filler alone is often not enough — a combination with facelift makes more sense.

A real concern — fake hyaluronic acid products have surfaced in Turkish headlines. Reputable clinics use certified hyaluronic acid from Allergan (Juvederm), Galderma (Restylane) or Teoxane. Ask for the original packaging in writing before injection. Unusually cheap package prices are suspect.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be completely dissolved with hyaluronidase (an enzyme) — the effect is therefore reversible. This is an important safety aspect. With non-hyaluronic fillers (e.g. permanent fillers like PMMA), dissolving is not possible — these are used only in special cases and should be carefully considered.

Very rare but possible: vascular occlusion from accidental injection into an artery — can cause skin necrosis or, in the worst case, vision loss. Risk is reduced by an experienced injector and use of blunt cannulas. With modern clinic standards this risk is very small, but not zero.

Hyaluronic filler lasts 6-12 months depending on the area — lips shorter (5-8 months), cheeks longer (12-18 months). Some patients need shorter top-up intervals, others longer. With repeated filler treatments, less material may be needed over time — the body "remembers" the volume.

In Western Europe wrinkle treatment typically runs £220-£430 per ml, in Turkey £130-£260 per ml. What to look for: brand (Juvederm, Restylane, Teoxane), volume in ml, experience of the practitioner (physician or nurse?). Package prices under £85 per ml are suspect.
